Areca Palm

Areca Palm - Chrysalidocarpus lutescens

This Areca Palm was already in situ when we moved in and it is a beauty. It stands at the top of the driveway and dominates the front of the house.

Chrysalidocarpus lutescens, the Areca Palm is also known as the Butterfly Palm, Golden Cane Palm, Madagascar Palm and the Golden Fruited Palm. In Thai it is kmnown as Maak-Lueang. It can grow to a height of 10m or more. It is a many slim, stemed clustered palm.
