Tuskers Bar in Chiang Mai is a joint Anglo-Thai venture aimed at bringing you the very best international food, drink and service.
Tuskers is situated in the heart of Chiang Mai, located just outside the eastern moat which rings Chiang Mai’s historic old city. We can be found opposite the popular Sompet Market.
Our building has a somewhat notorious history and before our extensive refurbishment, it was used as a ‘short time room’ guesthouse – in short a brothel! Going back further, the premises used to be a scandalous hangout for katoeys or ladyboys and was known for the entrapment of the unwary. This shocking establishment soon attracted the attention of the local police and was shut down.
| Those shameful days are long gone now and in October 2006, the site was obtained by Tusker Trading and renovated into a stylish pub that we hope will enhance the choice of quality venues in Chiang Mai and will appeal to people from all around the world. The building has given us the opportunity to create a unique space allowing us to cater to many different customer demands at the same time. Our garden, complete with our elephant waterfall, is a wonderful open space where people can enjoy an alfresco meal or drinks away from the bustle of the street. Our bar area is covered to protect against the elements but is a light, open space with a fabulous range of background music allowing for easy conversation and is an excellent venue for meeting friends and making new acquaintances. For the sports fan, our dedicated sports bar shows action from around the world on several screens; while the pool player can enjoy a free game on one of Chiang Mai’s best tables. |
Our whole team is dedicated to providing our customers with the warmest of welcomes, marrying the traditional warmth of northern Thai hospitality with the latest cutting edge styles from the world of modern catering.
